The Procurement Manager will be responsible for ensuring all resources required for production are consistently in stock and available. This role involves negotiating competitive pricing and minimum order quantities with suppliers, sourcing new resources, and authorising new suppliers in line with company standards, ensuring all relevant documentation is completed.

The successful candidate will develop and implement procurement strategies with clear targets and key performance indicators, review supplier performance, and launch initiatives to increase buying efficiency. A key focus will be on reducing the associated cost base and drag on cash flow.

Additionally, the Procurement Manager will develop efficient production planning cycles that meet customer demand across all product portfolios, improve operational efficiency, and leverage corporate standards to increase output while reducing costs. They will build multiple scheduled production plans to ensure customer satisfaction regarding quantity and delivery, while minimising the impact on working capital.

The role also involves developing sales and operational planning processes and leading reviews with the Sales team. They will maintain inventory levels within predefined standards and monitor stock continuously, adjusting plans for seasonal demand variations to enable efficient production planning.

Requirements for this Procurement Manager role:

  • Proven experience in procurement and factory output planning, with strong control over end-to-end planning functions.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and familiarity with Sage or the ability to quickly become a power user.
  • Strong negotiation skills and supplier management expertise.
  • Ability to manage multiple staggered production schedules aligned with customer delivery targets.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and results-driven, with excellent communication skills.
